Rescue Story: We came to rescue Skyy in a funny way. We looked at a few dogs online from Dekalb County Animal Services. So after a few emails back and forth we actually went to go see a boxer. After seeing the boxer and the boxer trying to attack me, I took him for a walk but still never felt comfortable with him. So they brought us another dog, well that dog didn't really want to move. So we were about to leave when they said go inside and just look. We said, ok, it can't hurt. Well once inside this beautiful pit bull mix saw us and gave us that look, but we kept going. We ended up going back to her; we didn't want a pit bull but those eyes and her color.... We ended up taking her for a walk and she was so good, along with her beautiful nature we decided ok, let's take her home. From what we were told she was rescued from a home that had used her primarily to breed. We were kind of nervous at first because we were always scared of pit bulls but after learning it's how they are raised and seeing what a loving dog she is, she is now part of our family.
What is your favorite pastime as a family? Definitely long walks, she has brought us to all walk
together more.
What is life like since you rescued Skyy? It has been good. Especially how much I enjoy play fighting with my daughter over her to see who Skyy likes better. (LOL)
Photographers Note: This family decided to meet me at Piedmont Park for their photo shoot. A gorgeous sunny day without a cloud in the sky. Skyy was in heaven with all the new smells around and so many doggies that that been there before her. It took us some time to go from location to location, since she had to have her "smells". This little girl just cracked me up, she spent most of her time rolling in the dead grass and as soon as her family wiped it off her, she would do it again. In fact, when we wanted her to roll, she wouldn't and that is when her family discovered the brush off trick! Everything Steve says about her above is true, she was so calm and so sweet. We even had another photographer mention what a great poser she was during some of her shots! So happy this sweet girl found a wonderful forever home!
