The cutest little turned up nose you have ever seen!

Rescue Story: We had visited many shelters.  Katy at DeKalb Animal Shelter found Margaret. Margaret had a checkered past.  She had been impounded at least twice and last time she was returned by a new owner after one week.  Lots of rejection in dear Margaret's life.  We think she was a street roamer, waiting to be picked up by Animal Control.  Our Story:  We visited the animal shelter (DeKalb) twice and took her out for a trial; then home.  She was perfect and we knew it; obedient and helpful.  She is an AKC Good Citizen.  She helped me (Ken) recover from a serious illness.

Margaret taking her freedom ride to her forever home.

What is your favorite pastime as a family? We all love road trips!!  And, we love taking long walks daily;  each one about 5 miles.

What is life like since you rescued Margaret? Wonderful !!!  She is a dynamic and meaningful member of our family.  We love her dearly.

Photographers Note: From the moment I walked in the door, I just fell in love with this sweet girl. ( I feel like I say that a lot, but wouldn't you too?) As I was chatting with Ken and Noel, she was right at my feet looking for some attention. Noel commented, 'It's as if she knows you are here for her". Between her adorable short, stocky frame and that sweet up-turned nose, how could you not just adore this pup. Don't let her grumpy expressions fool you, this is a very happy girl. She may have had a tough past but she has hit the jackpot with Ken and Noel. They sung her praises and called her perfect I don't know how many times. The bond is so strong between the 3 of them in such a short time, it's really a wonderful thing to see.

What I love most about this story (besides adorable Margaret) is that Ken and Noel don't represent what society/media may deem the typical pit bull owner and I don't just mean the negative stereotype's of the past. I love that this wonderful couple saw how special Margaret was, looked beyond stereotypes and chose her for the individual that she is. Clearly she was just waiting for this family, one that gives her the love and structure she needs.
