Big Happy Boy!

Rescue Story: Cash's previous owner was having health issues and knew he wouldn’t be able to care for him properly. We had just lost another dog that was from the bloodline and wanted another and he fell into our laps.

Puppy Cash

What is your favorite pastime as a family? He’s a big lazy guy so we like to just hang out and chill, he can be seen on the family ottoman or our bed.

What is life like since you rescued Cash? As are all of our animals past and present, he is very spoiled and wants for nothing. We even converted grandma who was not a pit bull fan at all into one because of the love he showed her and she now has her own. Cash is truly one of a kind, the most laid back and loving teddy bear and makes our life pretty easy to be with him.

Photographers Note: This morning as I was posting some outtakes from our session, I was made aware by a family member that Cash crossed the rainbow bridge this morning. My heart immediately broke for this wonderful family. Doing this project, I only spend short periods of time with my volunteers and am really just an observer to the dynamic that each family has with their dogs and their loved ones. It's the moments in between the photos being taken that I get the honor of seeing the amazing bond within these families. The laughter, the head pats and kisses to the pups, the sweet looks between family members, leaning over to speak quietly into their dogs ear....all of it just continues to illustrate that dogs are our family. I was truly blessed to witness those moments with this family, especially the love that both Cash and Skylar had for each other. Skylar would run off exploring as 8 year old boys do but when he came back, Cash only had eyes for him and Skylar would go immediately to his dog to share more of those moments. I hope the timing of Cash's story on the day of his passing will be seen as a wonderful tribute to a much loved member of this family. RIP Sweet Boy.
