Smiley Girl!
Rescue Story: Lilly is originally from Wisconsin. She hurt her leg as a puppy and was sent to a veterinarians office in Marietta that also is a rescue for injured animals. After she healed from her injury, it was time to send her back to Wisconsin. Sadly, the shelter in Wisconsin did not want an injured dog (she had a limp from her injury) so they rejected her and she continued to live at the vet’s office in their rescue division for the next year. I was looking into adopting a dog and had been to multiple shelters. I found her picture online and immediately called to set up a meet and greet with her. When they brought her out she started snorting and that was what made my decision to adopt her clear! We have been attached ever since and her snorting is just as cute as the day I brought her home.
First day home!
What is your favorite pastime as a family? Walking together in Piedmont Park.
What is life like since you rescued Lilly? Life has gotten so much better. I struggle with depression and anxiety and my pup has helped me so much with that and has become an amazing companion to have around. She makes my life better!
Photographers Note: I met Laura and Lilly at Old Fourth Ward Park in the evening, which that time of day just creates the best natural lighting. Of course it was still so hot but Lilly was a trooper. She sat perfectly for her bow tie photo and then even took time out during her photo with her Mom to dole out some kisses. Granted my secret weapon to get the pups to look at me (squeaky duck) was really no match for the real thing that were swimming around in the water! She quickly recovered when she realized she wasn't going to get to say Hi! She is just such a sweet little girl and very happy! It's clear that these two were meant to find each other!
