What makes Carla unique? She is calming. I have seen super reactive dogs fall in love with her. She listens and understands situations like most people cannot.
Eskimo kiss to her favorite Hippo!
Rescue Story: I used to live in Buckhead and went out to all the bars in my early twenties. A bartender there used to have her. I met her and instantly loved her. I got her vetted and spayed, would find any excuse to be around her. I lost contact with this person and one day I got a call from his roommate saying I needed to adopt her. Low and behold her owner texted me saying he simply did not have time for her. It was a dream come true. Its heartbreaking how often owners give up dogs.
What is your favorite pastime as a family? We like snacks & Grey’s Anatomy.
What is life like since you rescued Carla? She is my world; she has been there for all of my relationships, family losses, moves, the death of her sister. She brings such joy and happiness to me. She radiates positivity. She is the perfect dog. She understands me and teaches me to be more patient. She has been through many fosters and boarding dogs and has remained so happy. Words really can’t describe how much better she has made my life. I hope she feels the same way.
Photographers Note: I met Sarah & Carla at beautiful Whittier Mill Park on a pretty warm day in February. Carla was so sweet and well behaved. We found an amazing old brick structure for their family shot and then let her run in the open spaces, chasing after her favorite purple hippo toy. Now the new smells got the better of her and she started to get a little more focused on those then her hippo, but we were still able to make it work. I loved seeing this sweet senior girl so happy and carefree. Sounds like she brings that to her Mom every day.
