What makes Banksy unique?
● Her legs are so short, that when she sits normally, her butt doesn’t touch the ground. More often that not, you’ll find her rocking the upward facing dog (everyone comments how they’ve never seen a dog sit like that before)
● She snorts like a little piggy!
● She has this signature tuck and roll move when she’s running around with other dogs. People always think their dog knocked her over, but it is a strategic move she makes deliberately to throw off the other dogs
● She loves to use her small size to weave in and out from under benches to tease larger dogs who are chasing her
● She walks/waddles with some serious swagger
● She loves to sleep in and go to sleep early!
Play Time!!
Rescue Story: When I knew I was ready to rescue, I followed various resuce groups on Instagram I wasn’t looking for a particular breed, but was waiting for the dog who I felt a connection with. The second I saw her face, I knew she was the one. I met her at her foster’s the following week, and took her home with me that same night.
She had been next on the kill list at a shelter in Calhoun, Georgia where she was brought in as a stray. In Our Hands rescued her and brought her to New York, where we met :)
Carried to her forever home in a purple bag!
What is your favorite pastime as a family?
● I love taking her to the dog park and watching her and her little legs run around. She is very laid back in the house, but the second it’s time to play she is an endless ball of energy and she always runs the show.
● Dog beach
● Snuggling on the couch
● Playing her version of fetch at the park which involve a her diving headfirst at the ball, somersaulting, and missing it completely
● Going to grab puppacinos at Starbucks
What is life like since you rescued Banksy? Life is wonderful! I hop out of bed in the morning because I love the time I get to spend with her before starting work. We have lived in 3 different places in less than a year and have loved exploring the different neighborhoods together. She is very loved by me, my family, and my friends and she knows it. She is a much happier dog than the one I met back in September.

Photographers Note: I am so fortunate that I work with Banksy’s Mom and when I go to our Chicago dog friendly office I get to squeeze on this adorable nugget! Truth be told I am a little obsessed with her. She is the cutest, sassiest, squattiest little girl and you just want to cuddle her and kiss her.
During a work trip, I coordinated with Sydnee to meet up after the work day to do our photo shoot at a park near their house and I got to see the ball of energy side of her. She just ran and ran. Wasn’t intimidated by the big dogs, even used some questionable tactics to keep up with a large golden (something with the other dogs bandanna, we won’t talk about it ). She wasn’t shy about sneaking in on other dogs water bowls when she did a break; so much sass! She really is just a riot. Then afterwards we went to a restaurant and sat on the patio and she settled right down. I am pretty sure she slept hard and went to bed pretty early that night!
