What makes Theia unique? She demands a fire when the temperature below 60 degrees! She will sit and stare into the fireplace and occasionally look over at us, as if to say, “Hey, it’s cold, please make this fire work.” She loves hanging out in front of the fire.
Rescue Story: A friend ( also Stephanie & one of the Mom’s to Willa Dean & Mr. Magoo - 7/18/20) had another friend who was fostering Theia (a.k.a. Tiffany at Lifeline). Her family had some circumstances which were going to force them to return Tiffany to Fulton County. Stephanie couldn’t bear to see that happen and contacted me (Stephanie) to see if we could foster her. Carol was out of town (!) and I said, “Sure, bring her on over.” That was in early September. She never left. We became an official foster fail with Lifeline. We adopted her, officially, on October 2nd, 2017.
What is your favorite pastime as a family? Being together on a cold day where Theia is in front of the fire and we are just hanging out watching TV. We are all together and just being a little family.
What is life like since you rescued Theia? She makes us laugh a lot and she has changed our minds about having a dog sleeping in bed with us or being allowed on the furniture. We never let previous rescue dogs do those behaviors (they were much larger – GSDs over 100lbs). But she is just so sweet and loves to be with us. She loves to go to bed – I think her favorite past time is sleeping!
Photographers Note: First of all I always love volunteers that come through referrals from other volunteers. It means they are as passionate about changing perceptions as I am and most importantly they have determined I am normal enough that they feel comfortable to refer me and the project to their friends. :) LOL
I met up with this lovely family on a brisk Halloween day. Their house was completely decked out for the holiday and even had some neighborhood cats out front to welcome me. Little Ms. Theia was just too cute, she greeted me and then led me in the direction of their beautiful backyard. She did some racing around but wasn’t all that interested in showing off…..just wanted to be close by. Which is fine by me, cause with those ears, any pose she opts for is going to be perfect. Since the temp was just at or below 60 degrees she did end the shoot by the fire, as she requires!
