What makes Hazel unique? She can sense when people are interested in her or when not. She’s the perfect introduction/ icebreaker for people that are not educated on pit bull type dogs.
Play time!
Rescue Story: We happened to look at the local animal control to adopt a dog. She wasn’t available at that time (5 days state hold wasn’t up) Came back on the weekend and the kennel was EMPTY. Luckily a volunteer mentioned that some dogs were taken to an offsite adoption. We went through 17 photos looking for her, she was #18. We headed over to the offsite location and in less then 10 mins she sealed the deal with her sweetness. She must have been someone’s dog before because she was semi housebroken. That’s all we know.
Hazel settling in to her forever home.
What is your favorite pastime as a family? Every day is our favorite. moment. If I would have to decide on 1 moment id say when we took Hazel to see our 5 year old niece that was petrified of dogs (crying , screaming etc.) Hazel won her over, and now they are best buds (niece calls and ask to Facetime with Hazel).
What is life like since you rescued Hazel? She brightens even your darkest day. You may have had a long annoying day at work. Then you come home & Hazel greets you with excited wagging tail & bark, jumps up on you & licks you; how could you still be annoyed after that? YOU CANT!
Photographers Note: I am so thankful for flexible volunteers, due to all the rain Atlanta had been getting we had to reschedule our session several times. Course this also meant that it was a little wet in their backyard when we finally did get a nice day, but Hazel didn’t seem to mind. She would run around with her rope toy, happy as can be….and her beautiful coloring even blended in with the mix of red Georgia clay, so if she happened to get a little dirty no one would be the wiser. I sat down on their patio and just snapped away as she played. She would do a few laps and then come running back to me to check in. Moved in beside me for a quick pet, a little sniff and a smooch, then off she went again. This girl is just the sweetest, I can see how she is a fantastic ambassador for dogs like her.
