What makes Gemma & Rylee unique? Gemma - She believes that every person wants to greet & pet her therefore is super excited to meet new people.
Rylee - Will jump the fence to find/follow her people (she did this at the rescue for Darian and did it inside the house for me).

Rescue Stories: We had just lost our other dog (put to sleep that day) and I asked Tyler if he wanted to go to the Humane Society to look. He agreed to just going to LOOK. Gemma chose us. She would literally scream when we walked away from her puppy pen. She would use that scream to demand things for quite some time. Ha! She was found as a stray at about 3 weeks old in West Palm Beach Florida with demodex mange. Peggy Adams Animal Rescue pulled her from the shelter and had her for several weeks until Hurricane Irma was approaching Florida and Wings of Rescue flew adoptable animals north (we lived in Michigan at the time) to clear the shelters in advance of the hurricane. Gemma went to The Toledo Area Humane Society where we rescued her.

The manager of the rescue (Life is Labs/iWag in Temple, GA) got her from a dire owner surrender situation. She had severe demodex mange. As soon as I saw her picture on their Facebook page I knew she had to be mine. I kept telling Darian that, but it took me 6 weeks to get Tyler to go see her. He instantly fell in love.

What is your favorite pastime as a family? Nature Walks
What is life like since you rescued Gemma & Rylee? Gemma is thrilled she has a playmate now that we have Rylee. I love my cats, but there is nothing like the companionship of a dog. Life is BUSY. These two are like having toddlers. Ha!!! Because of Gemma I have met wonderful people in Georgia that have become friends.

Photographers Note: I met up with this wonderful family at Clinton Nature Preserve. Little did we know there was a multiple school cross country race going on, which meant a lot of people, cars & buses. Thankfully Sindy & Tyler found a spot at the back of the parking area that was pretty quiet and green! . I was greeted immediately by Gemma & Rylee. They were very excited to meet a new friend. Can you even believe the dog in the “before” photo above is Rylee? This girl is so beautiful with her shiny coat and light green eyes. Then you have little Gemma, who’s cute little button nose you just want to kiss all the time and those little ears that flop over just at the top! Too cute! These girls were a riot, it was like they knew they were the center of attention and were going to treat it like a party! So much personality!
