What makes Jack & Franky unique? Jack calms scared dogs. He is very funny; he knows when someone is upset and will just sit by them. He will gently ease up on the couch to sit with someone.
Franky is extremely cuddly and loving. He bonded with his big brother instantly and they play all day. He is also very strong and will bring you his food feeder when he wants it. He can also climb very high despite being so short.
Rescue Story: We were out with friends and heard that someone was trying to "get rid" of a dog. We reached out to that person and they explained that there was a litter of puppies and no one would take care of this dog. We stopped what we were doing and got him and took him home to join our family. He was so small and fragile. He slept on our head for weeks.
Mary Jo's co-worker was fostering Frank and we were thinking about adding to our family, but was cautious because it had to be a perfect fit for Jack. Sarah had Frank outside at a restaurant and we were passing by. The moment I met Frank, he jumped into my lap and it was over. He came for a meet-and-greet a few days later and has never left. As soon as he met Jack, and they started playing, I knew it would be a perfect fit for our family.
What is your favorite pastime as a family? We love to take our pups out in public, and to our friends' home out on the boat.. We are vendors at a local farmer's market, and we love to see them out and about, greeting customers and getting treats. We also care for an elderly couple and love watching Frank love on them, and bring them joy.
What is life like since you rescued Jack & Franky? Life with Jack is wonderful. He is a part of our family, and we can't imagine life without him. For Franky, he has a permanent family, and you can tell he knows as his personality has shined. He loves his brother, the yard and cuddling in bed. For us, our family of four is complete and its wonderful for Jack to have a little brother. We love how we all fit together.
Photographers Note: When I first meet volunteers I usually don’t have a ton of time to assess their personalities but in this case it didn’t take long. Jack is a very handsome boy with that beautiful red brindle coat and he was so excited to be out and about in this new place with the new smells. Then you have Franky, who is this adorable low rider and just loped along with the group with a big pibble smile on his face, very chill. Both are just as sweet as could be and got a lot of attention. Jack is quite the poser and gave me all kinds of angles to work with. I love that these two bonded so quickly and it was clear as they were always looking out for each other as we explored the park. Such a wonderful family!
