What makes Luna unique? She’s very sympathetic. She responds to crying, knows to apologize…but not always when to settle down. =P Once you tell her no to something, she just about never does it again. She tore a stuffed animal up once, when I cried, she came over and tried to comfort me. I told her not to touch them and to this day, she doesn’t touch a single stuffed animal, regardless of where they are.

Skipping Rocks!

Rescue Story: Last Thanksgiving, my hubs gave in and finally agreed to adding a dog to the mix. Without hesitation, that day, we went to the nearest Lifeline to look at pooches. Luna, then named Eliza, had just come to them within the month. Her story – she was a rescue from a puppy mill as a breeding dog. They put her at just around 2 years and believed she had birthed 2, possibly 3 litters. She was rambunctious, a tad unruly, jumped a lot and didn’t walk terrible well on a leash, but she was such a lover already. We did a few cat tests, I put an application in and took her home the next day once I had dog gear/food at home. After a few days of getting to know her, I gave her her forever name of Luna Lovegood. She was a bit awkward, very curious, very loving and tender natured.

Kisses for Forever Mom!

What is your favorite pastime as a family? Either playing fetch with her favorite UFO ball or snuggling on the couch. With playing fetch, no other dog/animal or human exists. She’s very single minded and she will go FOREVER. With snuggles, she gets a bit jealous of the cats when they get on my lap, so now, she tries to curl up on my lap. It’s really just the cutest. If I’m petting a cat, I have to be petting her. If she’s on my lap and the cat sits next to me and I pet her there, Luna wants that spot. It’s a bit comical.

What is life like since you rescued Luna? Hubs finally realizes that he does, in fact, like having a dog. He plays outdoors with her regularly. For me, she’s my baby…probably more than my cats.. I live for being greeted by her every day when I come home from work. I live for our cuddles and watching her do her zoomies after pets (she just goes wild after being pet)

Photographers Notes: Met up with Amber & Luna at great nature preserve area with a stream. Luna was having a blast chasing her ball in the water and splashing around. Amber was correct above about how she is very focused on that ball, if the ball is out nothing else exists. This gave us lots of action shot opportunities and also stills when she was just waiting for Amber to throw the ball. Win -Win for photographer and pup! Luna is such a happy and exuberant girl, she has clearly hit the jackpot of forever families as they know exactly what she needs to be fulfilled, another win-win!
